Although not fully equipped for disabled access, the bedrooms are on the same level as the entrance hall which has 6 shallow steps leading up from the driveway. The shower room is designed for disabled access. There are a further 4 steps up to the sitting room and dining room.
Covered storage for cycles and equipment is available.
One dog per room by special arrangement
We ask guests to refrain from smoking in the house. For smokers we have a covered area with table and chairs in the garden.
There are a number of good eating out establishments nearby, including the Red Poppy, Café India and Tulloch Castle. We maintain an up-to-date list of recommended restaurants and cafes in the area.
Walking and Cycling
( See Facilities page) Step out of the front door directly on to our extensive farm path network which links directly to medium and longer distance paths and cycle ways. It is possible to walk or cycle to Dingwall (¾ mile), Strathpeffer (6 miles) Garve (10 miles) either on quiet roads or traffic-free trails. Many other routes are available and we have Ordnance maps and guides of the entire Highlands available and are happy to advise on itineraries.
Knockbain Farm has its own grass airstrip which can be open to guests by arrangement. David keeps his 60 year old vintage aircraft at the airstrip and he has been flying from the wonderful hill top site for over 35 years.
